Success Academy is a program that R5 Solutions, a division of R5 Productions, has put together in order to help decrease the drop out rate in your school. It is a focused session with the academic high risk student in mind. Most students who are at risk for dropping out of school have many other distractions that are occupying their time and emotional energy. Success Academy helps them focus on coping mechanisms for handling distractions so they can have a more normal school experience. It is impossible to give one-on-one attention to every student that could be considered an academic high risk student. Success Academy uses your school dynamic to work with those students in a group setting. There are several different options you can choose from. R5 is dedicated to helping you find a way to ensure that every student in your school has a positive academic experience. Look over the options and give us a call if you have any questions.
OPTION ONE. Book an R5 assembly at your school and add a Success Academy break out session. The presenter will spend one hour with your students, going over the importance of school in relation to their future success. R5 presenters are excellent in communicating with students, addressing issues in such a way that is not condescending or patronizing. Each student in that session will receive a copy of
Reinventing My Normal, a book by our director Mike Donahue. The school will also receive the
Reinventing My Normal video series which includes a DVD along with 25 student discussion manuals. It is a follow-up to the break out session after the assembly. This series is comprised of seven teachings that you can customize according to your school dynamic.
OPTION TWO. You can
order the Reinvent My Normal video series on our website. Our suggestion is that you order a
Reinvent My Normal book for ever student as well. To help save on cost, we also suggest
purchasing just one or two copies that your students can check out from you.
OPTION THREE. You could bring Success Academy to your school for a whole day. We could come in for a entire school day to work with your at risk students in a more concentrated effort. We have several interactive exercises that we do with students that help get to the heart of why they may be too distracted to concentrate on school. We would provide books for all the students, the video series and a very fun interactive day that will motivate your students to stay in school and set themselves up for success.
OPTION FOUR. R5 is currently in the process of putting together a camp for the summer of 2010 called Success Academy Camp. This will be a whole week dedicated to setting your students up for success. We have been invited to be keynote speakers at several camps similar to this, which have proved to be very effective, so we decided we should run our own camp. R5 has many tools in our tool box that would ensure that every student attending our camp comes out with several of those tools to set them up to win in the game of life. There is money out there in the form of grants and private donors that cater to students that would be in danger of dropping out of school.
